I am a German-American singer/actress/producer/director and coach. I speak German and English fluently and accent-free. As Shakespeare declared it: "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players, They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts..." I offer one-on-one coaching in the technique of acting, voicework and stagecraft, as well as in career management, self-promotion, and producing. Drawing upon my master class, "The Elements of Performance," and "How the Self-Promoting Artist Wins," I will coach you through scene studies, monologue preparation and delivery, as well as the essential, non-technical aspects of performance that make an actor unique and lines memorable: carriage and the silhouette, gesture, atmosphere, stage presence, freeing the voice, diction, characterization and subtext, and more. I'm an award-winning singer, actress, producer and director based in New York City and Berlin. I have studied acting with Tovah Feldshuh and Jessica Kubzansky and voice with Jeannette Walters, Carlo Faria and Gina Ducloux and am a graduate of the University of Arizona. In 1999, I founded my own production company, Fin Alley Arts Management, and have produced and directed productions (here and abroad), three albums, a number of cabaret shows for the award-winning Kabarett Kollektif (a European ensemble I founded in 2003), and the award-winning international cabaret and theater festival, Kabarett Fete. I’m passionate about arts education and along with my husband established the world’s only scholarship in cabaret at Long Island University in 2007.
